The National Institute for Nutrition and Health (NINH) is a professional institution on food, nutrition and health research at the national level. It is also a national technical guidance center for nutrition and health. 
 
What we do:
 
 
1. Provide technical support and advice for the formulation of policies, regulations and planning related to nutrition and health;
2. Organize the formulation and revision of national standards, guidance, regulations, test methods and technical specifications on nutrition, food and health, and disseminate knowledge of nutrition and health to the public;
3. Track the nutrition, health and food diet of the population, carry out interventions on the improvement of the nutritional level of the population, and conduct prevention and control of related diseases; 
4. Carry out investigation and evaluation on major issues related to nutrition, health and food safety, and safeguard nutrition and health during national emergencies;
5. Carry out scientific research and development on nutrition, food and health, and disseminate relevant technologies on nutrition improvement to the public;
6. Provide graduate education and professional training on nutrition and health, and publish academic and professional journals on nutrition and health;
7. Provide guidance to local governments on the implementation of national planning and projects on nutrition and health, and provide professional guidance and technical training within the China CDC system on nutrition and health;
8. Carry out international cooperation and technology exchanges in terms of nutrition and health;
9. Accomplish other tasks entrusted by the China CDC.
